Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes is the Founder and Managing Partner of Aruwa Capital Management, which is one of the few woman owned and led gender lens growth equity funds investing into untapped investment opportunities in West Africa in the small to lower mid-market. Adesuwa has 12 years of investment banking, private equity, and structured credit experience in developed and emerging markets from top global institutions. Prior to founding Aruwa Capital, she spent five years as Managing Partner of Syntaxis Capital Africa. There, she led transactions of more than $200 million across Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to Syntaxis Africa, Adesuwa was at J.P. Morgan in London, where she was involved in $5.6 billion worth of M&A and Leveraged Finance transactions. Prior to that, she was an Investment Professional at TLG Capital. She was involved in PE transactions across Anglophone Africa.

In 2019, she was named as an Agent of Impact by Impact Alpha for her commitment to gender equality in private equity and across the society through Aruwa Capital’s investments. She was also recognised as one of the Top 35 Women Moving Africa Forward.

On the side, she sits on three boards in Nigeria including Wells Hosa GreenHouse Farms and Wells Carlton Hotel and Luxury Apartments..

Adesuwa started her career at Lehman Brothers and holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Bristol.
