Agriculture & Foods: Our Awards Areas and Targets

In order to feed 10 billion people sustainably by 2050 and enable a truly sustainable food system, we need to scale new technologies and approaches as rapidly as possible.

The “Agriculture & Foods” category of the TTI Global Impact Awards looks at how to transition this entire sector into a sustainable paradigm by leveraging existing and upcoming technologies, along with new industry practices and systems.

1. Productivity

Target: Enhance productivity and reduce global food loss and waste by 50% by 2030

→ Metric: Half per capita food waste at the consumer and retail levels

Target: Reduce food loss along production and supply chains

→ Metric: Reduce post-harvest loss; prevent food loss and quality deterioration by provision of training to farmers (on harvest, handling and processing purposes)

→ Metric: Improve food storage

Target: Reduce food loss in market distribution and consumption

→ Metric: Use of misshapen goods; streamline expiration dates

Target: Ensure well-balanced nutrition to meet the needs of a growing population

2. Incorporation of Alternative Protein

Target: Provide nutritious and sufficient foods while reducing carbon emissions

→ Metric: Increase lab-grown meat-based products production

3. Incorporation of Regenerative Agriculture in supply chain of food products & F&B

Target: Transform conventional agriculture into regenerative practices
