Education & Media: Our Awards Areas and Targets
Accelerated through the COVID Pandemic, the education & media sectors are leading the change to ensure accessible and equitable education for all by 2030. They are also enablers for all positive trends to grow better and faster.
The “Education & Media” category of the TTI Global Impact Awards looks at how to transition the entire sector into a sustainable paradigm by expanding access through adopting technological advancements to the future of education, work and entertainment.
The award winner for 2022: The Spaceship - hands on masterclasses for changemakers
1. The future of formal education
Target: Higher levels of education (% of population & % of youth); Increase literacy levels by 2030
→ Metric: Basic reading skills to students in low-income countries (# of people)
→ Metrics: Numeracy (# of people)
→ Metrics: Number of students who completed primary school (# of people)
→ Metrics: Number of students with higher levels of education than primary school (# of people)
→ Metric: Prolonging staying in school (# of people who otherwise would have stopped attending school)
→ Metric: Reduce the number of ‘no entry’ students (# of people)
Target: Affordable vocational and tertiary education for all by 2030
→ Metric: Number of enrollments (# of people) and completions (%); Number of youth and adults with relevant skills for employment and entrepreneurship (# of people)
Target: Immerse the urgency for climate action and practical implications of public and private decisions
→ Metric: Immersive experiences provided (us of VR)
2. Infrastructure
Target: Accessible education facilities
→ Metric: Innovations to ensure accessibility of facilities (accessible entries for students with disabilities)
→ Metric: Connectivity and transport possibilities (# of people coming from rural to attend facilities in urban areas)
3. Awareness and Media
Target: Resilience to climate change and increased climate action
→ Metric: Higher education on warnings and disaster preparedness plans (# of courses, # of enrollments)
→ Metric: Increased awareness on challenges and solutions (disaster risk management, biodiversity loss, sustainable production and consumption, responsible waste disposal and recycling) in curricula, courses and training as well as media output (# of such, estimated # of people reached)
→ Metric: Adapted national education policies, curricula, teacher education and student assessment
→ Metric: Number of educated and skilled policymakers, engineers and researchers (# of people)
→ Metric: Public provision of facts and figures, transparency of information, provision of a clear call to action, and provision of strategies for individual improvement
Target: Sustainable and efficient water use
→ Metric: Education on water use
4. Future of Work
Target: To be ahead of occurring workforce trends
→ Metric: Adoption of growing technologies (such as AI, machine learning and robotics)
→ Metric: Innovation and/or use of data and software management tools for remote working
→ Metric: Adoption of Working From Home Policy for all employees
5. Informative Entertainment
Target: Creative, innovative and socially conscious entertainment; To be ahead of occurring entertainment trends and ensuring universal access
→ Metric: Adoption of growing technologies (such as AI, machine learning and robotics)
→ Metric: Innovation and/or use of data and software management tools for remote entertainment
6. Conscious Leadership
Target: Enhance consciousness, mindfulness and compassion in the workplace
→ Metric: Execute, promote or train conscious leadership
