We bridge the gap between private sector expertise and public sector impact policies
Expertise for Effective Policymaking
The TTI Policy Unit bridges the gap between the private and public sectors, science, and practice to drive outcome-focused policies on critical global issues. As a connector, we unite policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to identify and advance practical pathways to net-zero.

Purpose, Process and Product
We face a global climate emergency. To address this, many countries around the world have committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This requires every single sector to work together. Too often, policymakers are viewed as being separate and with different priorities to wider stakeholders such as investors, entrepreneurs and professionals.
For policy to create optimal conditions for all relevant stakeholders to thrive in developing practical ways to achieve net-zero, the silos must come down. All stakeholders must understand better the challenges policymakers face, and how policymaking works in practice from respective nation-states to global governance.
We convene and connect through not-for-attribution, invitation-only, consensus-building policy conferences, where a representative cross-section of stakeholders is facilitated to develop evidence-based action steps to achieve net-zero. Out of each consensus conference, a report is produced that summarises the agreed learnings and actionable next steps for all stakeholders. To ensure the ideas are disseminated using a targeted and tailored approach, briefings are held with key decision-makers, and appropriate media strategies are determined to bolster public support of policy and stakeholder efforts.
Our Facilitated Format to Reach Consensus
In our global virtual gatherings, we select topics of systemic relevance and invite leading scientists with diverse views to draft 3-page position papers addressing current realities, opportunities, challenges, funding needs, and actionable policy recommendations. Participants then join moderated caucus groups to build consensus statements and concrete steps forward. Once consensus is reached, we compile the outcomes into a white paper shared with broader industry stakeholders, ensuring a balanced panel of experts to cover both pros and cons of the topic.
