The Circular Economy & Ellen MacArthur
We can address climate change, biodiversity and key social issues… all at once
Ellen MacArthur is quite the hero - and not only because she set a world record for the fastest solo nonstop voyage around the world on her first attempt. In the past years, Ellen's foundation has been carrying out groundbreaking research about the circular economy.
The above includes tangibly quantifying economic processes moving from a linear to a circular system and providing outcome-focused education at different levels of expertise.
Why is the circular economy such a big deal? As TTI founder Alessa Berg tells us, "alongside a couple of other areas with game-changing innovation, I see circular systems as part of the next phase of our evolution as an advanced civilization.”
“This isn’t just because we’re running out of resources - but also and importantly because it’s a much more efficient, cheaper approach. Evolution is about creating more efficiency, and so is innovation.”
“It’s time for us to graduate from a linear take-make-waste approach to a circular model, where everything is accounted for.”
At TTI, we actively discuss developments and innovative companies within the circular economy through our working groups. We couldn’t be more excited about what’s coming!
